ABU DHABI – Laurie Canter and Tommy Fleetwood did not waste any time picking up the two points that Britain and Ireland needed from singles to beat Continental Europe in the European Tour’s Team Cup event in Abu Dhabi on Jan 12.

Britain and Ireland have dominated two foursomes session to take an 11-4 lead over Continental Europe at the Team Cup on the second day in the United Arab Emirates.

Laurie Canter and Tommy Fleetwood did not waste any time picking up the two points that Britain and Ireland needed from Sunday's singles to beat Continental Europe in the European Tour's Team Cup event in Abu Dhabi.

Britain & Ireland needed just two more points from the singles and after Laurie Canter beat Romain Langasque 5&4, Fleetwood defeated Matthieu Pavon 3&1. Fleetwood also claimed the winning point for Europe when beating the United States outside Rome to reclaim the Ryder Cup in 2023.

Great Britain and Ireland won the Team Cup as they quickly secured the two points needed on the final day. Justin Rose’s team had won the first two sessions 3.5-1.5 and Saturday afternoon’s foursomes 4-1 to lead 11-4 going into Sunday’s singles,
