A person is dead after they were struck by crossfire during an incident at a “No Kings” protest in downtown Salt Lake City on Saturday, police have confirmed. Salt Lake City police officers responded to the area of 151 South State Street just before 8 p.

Salt Lake City police said​ in a post to social media that the shooting was "possibly associated" with a "No Kings" demonstration.

Detectives believe the victim was at the demonstration as a bystander and “was not the intended target of the gunfire.”

The Salt Lake City Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred during a “No Kings” protest Saturday night, leaving one person with critical injuries. An estimated 10,000 people were marching at the time.

Denver police say they believe the vast majority of people participating in the ‘No Kings’ Protest left after the event ended around 4 p.m. FOX31's Alliyah Sims spoke with one demonstrator who said the goal was to peacefully share their message.

Utah resident Arthur Folasa Ah Loo, 39, was shot and critically wounded during the protest in Salt Lake City on Saturday, June 14. He later died in the hospital from his injuries, the Salt Lake City Police Department confirmed in a news release.
