BP (NYSE:BP) plans to increase oil production at India's largest field by 44% and gas production by 89%, state-controlled Oil & Natural Gas Corp. said Thursday. The comments came a day after ONGC selected BP (BP) as its technical service provider to help boost production at its flagship Mumbai High field from a baseline of 45.

ONGC had announced on Wednesday that BP had bagged the contract to operate and enhance production from the former's flagship Mumbai High field which has been witnessing a gradual fall in output for over three decades.

BP will provide technical services to Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) to enhance production by up to 60% at the Mumbai High oilfield.

India's top explorer Oil And Natural Gas Corp on Wednesday said energy major BP will act as technical service provider to help boost oil and gas output from the country's largest producing field, off India's west coast.

BP looks forward to leveraging its extensive experience in performance optimization and recovery to help increase the output from Mumbai High oil field.

BP has indicated that it could increase oil and gas production from Mumbai High by up to 60% from baseline production levels, ONGC said

State-owned ONGC is set to increase oil and gas production by partnering with BP, leading to a $10.3 billion revenue increment. The partnership focuses on the Mumbai High field, aiming for substantial production increases.
