A Weather Impact Alert has been issued for Friday and Saturday as there's a chance for snow moving into our region, creating hazardous travel conditions.

As another winter weather system approaches the region, News Channel 11 spoke with the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) to obtain insight on how its crews prepare roadways for snow and ice.

The Tennessee Department of Transportation’s Mark Nagi stepped into the WVLT News studio Wednesday to speak on TDOT’s preparations ahead of forecasted snow. Nagi said the department is preparing, but also ready to adjust as needed.
