Proteas coach Rob Walter is backing the experience of Anrich Nortjé and Lungi Ngidi in major international events to shine through in the ICC Champions Trophy in Pakistan.

Fast bowlers Anrich Nortje and Lungi Ngidi have been named in South Africa's 15-member squad for the Champions Trophy, Cricket South Africa (CSA) announced in a press release on Monday (January 13). The two pacers have been drafted into the squad despite being out of action due to long injury layoffs.

Despite their troubles, both are proving their fitness ahead of the Champions Trophy, with Ngidi returning for Paarl Royals in the SA20, while Nortje is scheduled to play for Pretoria Capitals
