Anthony Davis had 42 points and 23 rebounds, and the Los Angeles Lakers used a huge first quarter from the All-Star center to build a 23-point lead before beating the Charlotte Hornets 112-107 on Monday night for their fourth straight win.

Los Angeles Lakers center Anthony Davis left Tuesday's game against the Philadelphia 76ers with an abdominal strain and did not return. Davis left the court at a timeout with 2:10 remaining in the first quarter.

It is often argued the Lakers should feel urgency to go for it this season because of LeBron James’ age, but it’s really Anthony Davis’ prime that should inspire the organization to go for it.
