Knobs on ranges can be unintentionally activated, an issue that has proved a hazard with other brands, safety agency says.

LG Electronics has recalled 500,000 electric ranges after dozens of fires, injuries and even the deaths of pets. The ranges, which have front-mounted knobs, can be accidentally turned on, causing a fire hazard.
