Longtime castmember Heidi Gardner is leaving, alongside Michael Longfellow and Devon Walker, while the 'Please Don't Destroy' videos will also come to an end.
The SNL stars not returning for Season 51 include Heidi Gardner (after eight seasons), Michal Longfellow (after three seasons), Devon Walker (after three seasons), Emil Wakim (after one season), and John Higgins, who was part of the Please Don’t Destroy troupe that joined the late-night show in 2021.
The upcoming Saturday Night Live cast will feature some old and new faces. Michael Che is set to return to the hit sketch comedy show, completing the cast lineup, according to sources that spoke to Deadline.
“I took a photo of my tongue and sent it to an actor friend of mine,” McKinnon explained to the outlet. “We both have the same medical condition, which is called geographic tongue. Your tongue sheds in patches and looks like an atlas, hence the name ‘geographic tongue.’”
“SNL” finalized the cast for Season 51 on Monday, Sept. 8, and a handful of fan-favorites were confirmed to be returning to Studio 8H for its Oct. 4 premiere. Bowen Yang, Ego Nwodim and Chloe Fineman are coming back, while Kenan Thompson will also return for a record-breaking 23rd season on the NBC sketch comedy series.
