A problem at Amazon's cloud computing service disrupted internet use around the world early Monday, taking down dozens of online services, including social media site Snapchat, the Roblox and Fortnite video games and chat app Signal.
Even Amazon's own services weren't immune. Users of the company's Ring doorbell cameras and Alexa-powered smart speakers posted on DownDetector that they weren't working, while others said they were unable to access the Amazon website or download books to their Kindle.
Games of all types, from Fortnite to Wordle to Roblox have been affected by the AWS outage. Problems started at about 7.30am BST (that's 2.30am ET) when gamign services started having huge spikes on the outage-detecting website Downdetector.

More than 1,000 companies have had 6.5 million reports of disruption, including Snapchat, Reddit, Roblox and Lloyds bank.
