Ohio State will wait another week before playing its first game of the College Football Playoff in 2025.
When Ohio State takes the field against Miami on Dec. 31, there will be a new offensive play caller. Head Coach Ryan Day will call the offensive plays in the Buckeyes’ College Football Playoff (CFP) quarterfinal game against the Hurricanes in the Cotton Bowl, according to the Associated Press.
Under head coach Jim Tressel, Ohio State won its last bowl game against Miami in the 2003 BCS national championship game.
Ohio State coach Ryan Day said Monday he'll assume the play-calling role offensively for the No. 2 Buckeyes in the College Football Playoff. Outgoing offensive coordinator Brian Hartline will focus on the wide receivers after accepting the head coaching position at South Florida earlier this month.
The Miami Hurricanes set a new program first, earning their first-ever College Football Playoff win 10-3 over the Texas A&M Aggies on Saturday afternoon in College Station. The game was a physical, defensive battle for four quarters.
