DOZENS of games and apps have gone down after a global outage. Roblox gamers and Snapchat users are among those battling to access the platform following a server outage at Amazon. The company’s web service allows games and apps to rent servers without the need to buy physical computers or data centres.

An Amazon Web Services outage knocked out popular apps and websites for hours, snarling everything from shopping and streaming to messaging and payments. On Monday, Oct. 20, AWS customers around the world reported errors as a failure in Amazon’s cloud disrupted connectivity and app launches.
While the outage originated in the US, it affected Indian users due to AWS's global backbone. Over 1,000 reports emerged from India on Downdetector, focusing on gaming (Roblox, Fortnite), education (Duolingo), design (Canva), and social apps (Snapchat). Telecom services like Vodafone saw indirect hits via AWS-dependent portals.
