PS Hash is a free tool that calculates, compares and verifies the checksums, content and hashes of .md5, .sha1, .sha256, etc, files using an algorithm.

The hash couldn’t tell you what that original file is, without you already knowing or having a copy of the file to compare it to. It might help to think of a hash like a fingerprint.
