Good news for certain Californians who have to renew their driver's license. From now on they won’t be required to take a written test says the DMV.

Californians 70 years old and above will no longer need to take the written driver test, the DMV announced this week.

A local organization that aims to help Spanish-speaking residents pass the state’s DMV exam has secured funding to continue its efforts for at least through the end of the year.

The online knowledge test, formerly available only to adults, can now be selected by teenagers filling out the online driver's license application.
