CHICAGO (WLS) -- Funnel clouds have been reported and there is Flash Flood Warning for parts of the Chicago area Friday. The Flash Flood Warning is for DuPage and Cook counties until 2:45 p.m. There is very heavy rain in narrow lines in the area Friday.

The powerful storms also led to ground stops at O'Hare and Midway, and may have even played a role in a gas station explosion near Chicago.

A line of fast-moving storms prompted severe thunderstorm warnings in the Chicago area and ground stops at O'Hare and Midway airports. There were also reports of storm damage.

Besides temperatures feeling in the high 90s, Chicago and surrounding areas are under an air quality alert until midnight, weather officials said.
