LONDON -- LONDON (AP) — Amazon says a massive outage of its cloud computing service has been resolved as of Monday evening, after a problem disrupted internet use around the world, taking down a broad range of online services, including social media, gaming, food delivery, streaming and financial platforms.

Hours later, Amazon finally announced that it had resolved the issue behind the major outage, which it said occurred at the heart of its cloud computing operations in North Virginia. In an update on its status page, AWS said the “underlying DNS issue has been fully mitigated, and most AWS Service operations are succeeding normally now”.

Amazon said its cloud computing service was recovering from a major outage that disrupted online activity around the world.
