Wisconsin is still looking for another signature win after running into a resilient Terrapins squad on the road Wednesday night. Here's what stood out in the loss.

Not that Wisconsin needed a reminder, but life on the road in the Big Ten isn’t easy. The Badgers, who drained 32 three-pointers in the previous two games, got a taste of their own medicine in the second half at Maryland on Wednesday night.

Prominent ESPN host Scott Van Pelt had a front-row seat to Maryland basketball's 76-68 win over Wisconsin on Wednesday. That is stated literally -- Van Pelt sat courtside as the Terrapins rode a 44-37 second half to the eight-point win.

Tonje, a sixth-year shooting guard who spent his first four seasons at Colorado State and last winter at Missouri, racked up game highs in both points (23) and 3-pointers (five) and grabbed six rebounds for Wisconsin. But the Terps (17-5, 7-4 Big Ten) emerged with a 76-68 victory thanks to double-digit production from all five of their starters.

Wisconsin arguably lost Wednesday's game on the margins. Maryland shot a tick better from the floor (40% vs. 37.3%) and much better from three (50% vs. 33.3%). But the close score accurately depicts a game that hung in the balance until the final minutes. The Badgers lost due to two key areas: turnovers and free-throw shooting.
