President Vladimir Putin's top foreign policy aide said on Thursday a 30-day ceasefire proposed by the United States to pause the war in Ukraine would give Russia "nothing" while gifting Kyiv's forces a much-needed battlefield respite.

Russia says it will discuss the U.S. ceasefire proposal, but President Vladimir Putin has signaled he seeks to expel the remnants of Ukrainian forces from Kursk.

Russian President Vladimir Putin will formulate Moscow’s position on a temporary ceasefire in Ukraine himself, said Yuri Ushakov, an advisor to the Russian leader. However, Ushakov did not provide details on when a possible address by Putin might take place.
