Firefighters say winds between 20 and 30 mph were blowing through the area as they attempted to quell the flames burning in the Santa Clara Riverbed.

The Auto Fire has burned nearly 61 acres in Ventura, California Monday night and was at 47% containment Tuesday afternoon.

A new wildfire has broken out in the Californian city of Oxnard, which is located in Ventura County next to Los Angeles. The fire began in a dry riverbed late on Monday night and the flames are continuing to burn across the county’s agricultural areas.
