CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (AP) — The International Space Station’s first visitors from India, Poland and Hungary headed back to Earth on Monday, wrapping up a private mission and catching a ride home with SpaceX. Their capsule undocked from the orbiting lab and aimed for a splashdown the next morning in the Pacific off the Southern California coast.
The next astronaut launch to the International Space Station (ISS) is just around the corner.
Shukla’s 20-day mission to the ISS on board SpaceX equipment tagged along a significant ticket price of approximately Rs 550 crores.
The astronauts arrived at the station on June 26, about 28.5 hours after launch from NASA's Kennedy Space Center atop SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket on June 25. Over the last two weeks, the crew conducted more than 60 experiments focused on microalgae, microbial growth and human health and have travelled over 10 million kilometres in space.
