A Pakistan court has sentenced former prime minister Imran Khan and his wife to 14 and seven years in jail respectively after finding them guilty of corruption, his lawyers and officials said.The two were accused of accepting a gift of land from a real estate tycoon in exchange for laundered money when Mr Khan was in power.

Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi were sentenced to 14 years and 7 years of prison, respectively, on Friday in a case regarding the misuse of authority and corruption involving Khan's Al-Qadir University Project Trust.

Former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi on Friday were convicted in the £190m Al-Qadir Trust case with the PTI founder being sentenced to 14 years in prison and a seven-year jail term handed to his wife, as reported by Dawn newspaper.
