While many on the PGA Tour have raised eyebrows this week following Rory McIlroy's decision to skip the first leg of the FedEx Cup Playoffs at the St. Jude Championship, one player director on the Tour board isn't sounding the alarm on protocol changes.

It's not the greatest look for the PGA Tour and its playoff format that Rory McIlroy is blowing off the first leg of the three-tournament gauntlet.

RORY McIlroy was hot and tired when he finished the FedEx St. Jude Championship last year. He was No. 3 in the FedEx Cup. He beat only one player at the TPC Southwind and tied for 68th, finishing 26 shots behind.
