After a tour of areas damaged by the California wildfires, the president sparred with local leaders and blamed them for a wide variety of issues affecting the disaster response.

Trump’s trip to Los Angeles included moments of warmth -- and friction -- with the state’s Democratic leaders.

Pacific Palisades resident Dave Harvilicz drove to the intersection of Brooktree Road and West Sunset Boulevard on Friday afternoon to catch a glimpse of President Trump’s motorcade.

There is a 10% to 20% chance of flash flooding and landslides in some recently burned areas of Los Angeles County, forecasters say, including for the Palisades and Eaton fires.

Rain is in the forecast for Southern California over the weekend and while that may bring relief for the fires still burning there, the moisture could also trigger landslides. CBS News correspondent Andres Gutierrez has more.

Here's the latest on containment for the fires burning across Southern California as firefighters work to extinguish the fires.

Palisades Fire initially started 10:30 a.m. Jan. 7 in Los Angeles County. It has burned 23,448 acres after being active for 16 days. A crew of 3,274 firefighters has been working on site and they managed to contain 72% of the fire by Thursday morning.

The two largest fires, the Palisades Fire in Pacific Palisades and the Eaton Fire near Pasadena, remain active. One of the latest, the Hughes Fire in the Castaic area, has prompted evacuation orders for tens of thousands of people.
