New York City is expected to get widespread, measurable snow Sunday, with areas north and west of the city primed for up to a foot of snow. We won’t see that much snow in the immediate New York City metro area,

Some parts of the region could see up to 6 inches of snow over the holiday weekend, the National Weather Service said.

Big changes are coming over the weekend. A front will usher in our coldest weather in 2 years with below zero wind chills and the potential for some snow. Expect some rain Saturday afternoon followed by a chance for snow later Sunday as the bitter cold arrives.
