By Maki Shiraki, Daniel Leussink and Norihiko Shirouzu TOKYO (Reuters) - Japan's Nissan will unveil a shake-up in its top ranks next month, three people familiar with the matter said on Thursday, adding that embattled CEO Makoto Uchida is currently expected to hang on to his job.

Nissan is readying a major executive shakeup, which may spell the end for its current CEO, Makoto Uchida, Bloomberg and Reuters report. The Yokohama-based automaker could be looking for a new CEO after merger negotiations failed with Honda a short time ago.

Nissan directors are gauging interest in candidates to succeed Makoto Uchida, the 22-year company veteran who’s been CEO since late 2019, sources said.
