Norway's future king, Crown Prince Haakon, has spoken out after his stepson, was charged with rape, domestic violence, assault and other crimes.

Per People Magazine, Marius Borg Høiby, 28, was arrested in August last year on charges relating to the alleged physical and psychological abuse of a 20-year-old woman. He has since been charged with 32 crimes by the state prosecutor of Norway, including one count of rape with intercourse and three counts of rape without intercourse.

Authorities say the pursuit escalated when the suspect took a hostage at gunpoint after his initial vehicle was disabled.
