It appears hyped running back Ezekiel Elliott won’t make his Los Angeles Chargers debut during the NFL playoff game against the Houston Texans this weekend. Elliott, signed to the practice squad and with a simple message received from Jim Harbaugh and Justin Herbert,

The Chargers made a series of moves on Friday. They activated cornerback Eli Apple and wide receiver Simi Fehoko from injured reserve, placed defensive back Ja’Sir Taylor on IR and elevated safety Eddie Jackson and running back Jaret Patterson from the practice squad.

The Chargers decided not to move Elliott up, instead promoting Jaret Patterson for the Wild Card game against the Texans. Elliott spent the 2023 season with the New England Patriots in a reserve role and then came back to the Cowboys, the team that drafted him at No. 4 overall in 2016.
