Shohei Ohtani's former interpreter, Ippei Mizuhara, reported to a low-security Pennsylvania prison Monday to begin serving a 57-month sentence, multiple outlets reported, after pleading guilty in March to tax evasion and bank fraud charges.

Ippei Mizuhara, the disgraced former interpreter for Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani, is in federal prison in Pennsylvania, a spokesperson for the Federal Bureau of Prisons told ESPN Monday.

Shohei Ohtani will make his Dodgers pitching debut Monday night against the Padres, sending ticket prices soaring.

In the last season that he pitched in 2023, Ohtani had a 3.13 ERA, a 1.06 WHIP and a 10-5 record, helping him earn a second AL MVP. Unfortunately, his season on the mound was cut short as he underwent surgery for a UCL tear in his right elbow in September. Since then, he's been on the road to recovery.

Shohei Ohtani will make his long-awaited return to pitching on Monday night in a matchup against the division-rival San Diego Padres.
