Apple is using the Adam Scott thriller to try and drive new subscribers to its streaming service, following a number of moves to get its programming in front of those who may mot have sampled it.

In a novel promotion, Season 1 of breakout Apple TV+ series Severance will stream free on the Roku Channel during the runup to the second-season premiere.

It’s been a long three years, but there’s less than one week left until Severance Season 2 premieres on Apple TV+. When we last saw Lumon’s Macrodata Refinement department, they were scattered — and their innies were in the outside world thanks to Dylan (Zach Cherry) triggering the Overtime Contingency in a risky attempt to get to the bottom of their company’s shady activities.

Thankfully, answers are oh-so-close to arriving, as Severance Season 2 is set to debut on Friday, January 17, but even those who haven’t yet experienced the singular majesty of watching the quizzical drama can join the rest of us without requiring a current Apple TV+ subscription.

Ahead of the premiere of Severance season 2, Apple TV+ and Roku teamed up to make the first season of the show available for free.
