President Donald Trump’s new ban on travel to the US by citizens from 12 mainly African and Middle Eastern countries took effect Monday amid rising tension over the president’s escalating campaign of immigration enforcement.

In response to Trump's travel ban, Chad's President Mahamat Déby says he has instructed his government to stop issuing visas to US citizens. As a reminder, Chad is one of the 12 countries that will see a total ban on travel from 9 June.
