Kenzie Beach has the latest on the Greer Fire that has forced several residents in eastern Arizona to flee from their homes. It has grown to more than 7,000 acres as of May 14.

The size of the destructive Greer Fire in eastern Arizona’s White Mountains didn’t change overnight, authorities said Wednesday morning.

Multiple buildings have been destroyed and evacuations have been ordered as a wind-driven wildfire burns through an Apache County community.The Greer Fire, which was reported to be a 10-acre wildfire late Tuesday morning,

The mayors of Eagar and Springerville have declared a State of Emergency due to the 'Greer Fire' burning in Eastern Arizona. As of 8 p.m., the fire has grown to just more than 3,600 acres and is at 0% containment.

A wildfire in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest, Arizona, has forced evacuations in Greer and South Fork, with several structures destroyed. The blaze, fueled by high winds and dry conditions, has burned 10 acres.

All evacuees from the Greer Fire may go to the Round Valley High School Dome at 555 N. Butler St. in Eagar, according to the Town of Eagar. Evacuees may park in the back parking area and enter through the doors in the back. Residents with RVs or large animals can go to the Round Valley Rodeo Grounds.
